My art
I fell into art unexpectedly. I was 26 when I was introduced to an artist for a ‘painting day’… it was a cold start into a world I knew nothing about, but one I didn’t want to leave. Whilst I never went to art school, or received a ‘formal’ education in art, I learnt a lot from my mentor. The main message being to ‘trust the process’…

Before art
I grew up in North Devon, playing in the woods, exploring the moors, and soaking up the beaches. Leaving the tranquil countryside for Newcastle, I spent three years studying Zoology for my BSc.
During and after my degree, I worked at horse safaris in Botswana and Kenya before spending six years at a wildlife travel company. This enabled me to visit extraordinary destinations and observe wildlife in their natural environment, including jaguars, giant river otters and tapirs in Brazil’s Pantanal; penguins on the Antarctic Peninsula; Indian one-horned rhinos in the Terai forests of Nepal; and wild dogs and leopards in Zimbabwe. -
Outside of art
I split my time between North Devon and Southwest Germany where my partner is from. When I am not painting, my rescue dog Arwen and I do lots of hiking. My favourite place is outdoors, be it taking a cold plunge in the sea, sitting beside a fire pit, or feasting on an alfresco meal with friends.
